Dr. Mamun Alrashid MD, MRCS, FRCS, FACS is a Harvard fellowship-trained, American board-certified surgeon specializing in all aspects of orthopedic surgery. He has two decades of experience behind him as a physician, taking care of patients with various bone and joint related health concerns. He has sub-specialty expertise in complex Hip and Knee surgery. He has undertaken thousand of procedures and surgeries over his decades long career as an orthopedic surgeon in south Florida.
In addition to offering the latest early recovery pathways and advanced minimally invasive techniques in Hip and Knee Replacement surgery, Dr. Alrashid also offers trauma care and fracture surgeries in addition to sport related injuries. Dr. Alrashid provides his patients a holistic approach to musculoskeletal care, including the latest regenerative procedures.
Dr. Alrashid has been adjunct faculty at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, as Affiliate Assistant Professor of Surgery. He also serves as Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Nova Southeastern Medical School. He has served as Associate Program Director for HCA Florida JFK Hospital Orthopedic Residency program, where resident American Orthopedic surgeons trained under him to learn the leading techniques in Orthopedic surgery. He is actively engaged in the local community as an educator, teaching and training medical students from local medical schools and the next generation of surgeons. He is extensively published, has authored multiple book chapters, and his numerous clinical research works have been published in prestigious peer reviewed journals including the Journal of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, among others. His research work has been presented at numerous national and international scientific conventions.
Dr. Alrashid also served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at HCA Florida Palms west Hospital and has held leadership roles in several quality improvement committees to advocate for patient safety and improving quality of care standards in Hospital Facilities. He also provides second and third opinions on complex medico-legal cases, and works with the legal community.
